Recipe: Shiitake and Lion’s Mane Mushroom Dumplings

Today, we're excited to share a recipe that showcases the unique taste and texture of our Shiitake and Lion's Mane mushrooms: homemade dumplings. These dumplings are perfect for any occasion, whether you're looking for a healthy weeknight dinner, a crowd-pleasing appetizer for your next gathering, or a fun weekend cooking project. 

The combination of Shiitake and Lion's Mane mushrooms provides a delicious umami flavor that pairs wonderfully with the aromatic ginger, garlic, and shallots. And not only are these dumplings delicious, but they're also packed with nutrients. Shiitake mushrooms are known for their immune-boosting properties, while Lion's Mane mushrooms have been praised for their potential cognitive benefits.  homemade SHIITAKE And Lion's Mane mushroom Dumplings

Ingredients

For the Filling:

- 1/4 lb Shiitake mushrooms

- 1/4 lb Lion's Mane mushrooms

- Thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger

- 6 garlic cloves

- 1 shallot

- 2 green onions

- 5 tablespoons sesame seeds

- 2 tablespoons salt

- 2 tablespoons black pepper

- 4 tablespoons sesame oil

- 1 tablespoon powdered thyme (optional)

For the Dough:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup water

Instructions

Preparation (30 minutes):

1. Combine the flour and water in a bowl to form a rough dough ball. Cover with a wet paper towel and let rest for 10 minutes.

2. While the dough rests, place all filling ingredients in a food processor and shred.

3. Knead the dough into a smooth ball and cover again, letting it rest for 30 minutes.

4. Heat a wok or skillet with oil. Add the food processor contents and fry until tender and lightly browned. Transfer to a bowl to cool.

Shaping the Dumplings:

1. Roll the dough into a 1-inch diameter tube and cut into 1/2-inch pieces. The dough should feel like an earlobe.

2. Lightly dust each piece with flour to prevent sticking and roll into 3-inch circles.

3. Place a spoonful of the cooled filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.

Cooking:

1. Steam the dumplings for 9 minutes, or

2. Fry them until both sides are browned.

Serving:

- Serve with soy dipping sauce and enjoy!
